  • Leading the keynote speakers is Dr. Thomas Sterling

    The Science and Information Organization is pleased to announce the speakers for its upcoming Science and Information Conference 2015. The keynote speakers are a diverse group with expertise in High Performance Computing and Networking, Informatics and Computing, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Internet of Things. 

    Leading the keynote speakers is Dr. Thomas Sterling. Dr. Sterling is a professor of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University’s School of Informatics and Computing. In addition to his duties at IU, Dr. Sterling is chief Scientist and Executive Associate Director of the Center for Research in Extreme Scale Technologies. This 1997 Gordon Bell Prize winner is known for his pioneering research in commodity/Linux cluster computing. Dr. Sterling is also co-author of six books, holds six patents, and received the 2013 Vanguard award.

    Dr. Fahim Kawsar is Director of Internet of Things at Bell Laboratories. He currently is focused on creating human centred software architectures, interaction tools with awareness technologies, and applications. He is a widely published author being featured in many international books and journals.

    Dr. Muriel Médard is the Cecil E. Green Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. Her area of research is network coding and reliable communications. Dr. Médard is the 2002 IEEE Leon K Kirchmayer Prize, 2009 IEEE Communication Society and Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award, and the 2009 IEEE Will R. Bennett Prize winner. These awards are in addition to being an IEEE fellow and past IEEE Information Theory Society President.
